Third Tuesdays with HEART

Continuing the Conversation

Anyone impacted by mass violence is invited to join us the third Tuesday of each month online as we continue the conversation from the month’s First Tuesdays with HEART program and discuss issues we’re experiencing in our everyday lives. This all-new support group, Third Tuesdays with HEART, is facilitated by Jacqueline Harris and Jill Winter.

Jacqueline is the Behavioral Health Coordinator for the Resiliency & Justice Center, has been supporting the Route 91 family since the morning after 1 October, one of the original HEART Peer Support Coaches, and facilitates a Route 91 support group. Jill is a survivor of Route 91, Co-Founder and Co-Director of HEART Peer Support, and Co-Facilitator of a UNLV faculty and staff support group.

Third Tuesdays with HEART meetings are open to anyone who has been affected by incidents of mass violence. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Survivors
  • Family of those impacted
  • Friends of those impacted
  • First responders
  • Community responders
  • Therapists
  • Hospital staff
  • Community members
  • And others

You can sign up for a meeting, usually hosted online the third Tuesday of each month, through 3rdtuesday.eventbrite.com. There is also a private Facebook group for First Tuesdays with HEART, which you can join by clicking here.

HEART Peer Support

The HEART Peer Support program was founded in 2020 by individuals impacted by the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas and the Resiliency & Justice Center (then known as the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center). These dedicated volunteers are trained in evidence-based best practices and are guided by trauma-informed providers and clinicians to support those impacted by mass violence across the globe.
