New Year Expectations & Resolutions: Taking It Back in 2021
In a “normal” year, New Year’s Day represents a time for rebirth, rededication, and charting a course for individual improvement. With the struggles of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic, the chaos, and the isolation, it is easy—if not predictable—that those who have already faced challenging times may find it more difficult to look to 2021 with optimism. When bad things have happened, it is easy to be preoccupied with more pending doom and the doubt that better days will come.
Now is the time to take your life back. This discussion with licensed psychologist Dr. Mitch Abrams will explore how trauma shapes the lens through which we see the world and talk about the rekindling of the human spirit. We will discuss the empowerment that comes from self-acceptance, understanding one’s emotions, and learning to harness them as you fuel yourself into the coming year with resilience and meaning.
