Integrative Services: Music Therapy with Becky Wellman
Integrative music support groups utilize music to encourage positive changes in mood and overall well-being. These online sessions may include music listening, discussion, interpretation, creative expression, song-writing, or other music interventions. Some of the documented benefits of music therapy include improved self-esteem and self-confidence, decreased feelings of anxiety and depression, increased motivation and focus, increased ability to identify and articulate emotions, and stronger connections to other people.
For those who have been approved for this no-cost integrative service through the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center, online sessions are offered with licensed and board-certified music therapist Becky Wellman, PhD, LPMT, MT-BC. Becky holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music History and Theory as well as Oboe Performance. She has a Master of Music in Music Therapy from Ohio University and a PhD in Developmental Psychology from Capella University. Dr. Wellman runs Wellman Therapy Services, which has offered music therapy and wellness programs in Las Vegas since 2005.
