Resiliency, Advocacy, & Self-Efficacy: Tools for Overcoming Adversity
Melina Yaraghchi and Lexi Silva of Desert Psychological will provide participants with an introduction to resiliency, self-efficacy, and advocacy. The similarities and differences of these concepts will be defined, and focus will be placed on how to build these concepts in ourselves and others. Participants will leave this presentation with tips, tools, and food for thought relating to their own resiliency.
Desert Psychological has offered mental health services in Las Vegas, Nevada, since 1997. It prides itself on valuing a multi-disciplinary approach, inspiring adaptability and independence, and improving the lives of those in its community.
Melina Yaraghchi enjoys working with children and adolescents in resolving issues such as anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. She also provides parent management training and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to help parents manage disruptive behaviors in young children and adolescents. Lexi Sliva’s clinical areas of interest consist of working with adjudicated youth, pre-employment psychological evaluations, and psychological/diagnostic evaluations. She additionally enjoys teaching graduate students as an adjunct professor.
