The STABLE Series: Equine Therapy Exercises & Arena EMDR
The Resiliency & Justice Center and the Stable Arena present the STABLE (Strength, Trust, Adapt, Believe, Learn, Excel) Series. We invite you to come be valued and protected in a series that will demonstrate how working with horses can help you chart a course to healing. Just being near horses can reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure and heart rate, alleviate stress, and create an increased sense of wellbeing.
Join Terri Keener (LCSW) and Laura Higgins (Equine Specialist) for some time to observe and interact with the Helpful Herd. Variations of the experience will be offered each time, although similar information will be provided for the benefit of those attending for the first time. Examples include grooming, walking, observing, haltering, ground exercises, photos, or even painting. There will also be descriptions and demonstrations of equine EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), also known as “Arena EMDR.”
