Meditation/Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a meditative practice that emphasizes a person’s acceptance of their experience in the present moment, without anxiety, fear, or judgment. This trauma-informed intervention can assist in creating a sense of security or safety and help increase self-awareness and empowerment while reducing stress and anxiety.

Online sessions are offered with Catherine Scherwenka and Elizabeth Flocchini every Tuesday. Catherine and Elizabeth were both part of the Wellness Recovery for Clark County after the 1 October incident. They have studied and trained for over 20 years at an academy in India and have dedicated their lives to helping humanity shift from stressful, anxious, lonely states to more connected, peaceful, joyful states. They both travel globally, sharing their wisdom and knowledge not only from what they have acquired from their studies but more importantly from their own life experiences.

This integrative service through the Resiliency & Justice Center is intended for those impacted by mass violence, violent crime, and trauma, as well as emergency responders and victim service providers.
